Hey everyone, it's about time for a new update. First off, we'd like to thank everyone from all over the world that became our fan on Facebook last month or started following on twitter. We broke 5000 followers and over 2000 facebook fans. The CD Release parties were a blast for us, thanks to everyone who came out, all the bands that played, and the venues/sponsors who participated(InSITE, NORML, Encore, Fox7News, KEYE Austin, HardPressed Publicity, ArielCyberPR, Jacks, & River City Productions) And a special thanks to Joi Faltesek and Zappy Springs Photography for taking some killer photos(below) and also our streetteamer Travis Warren for shooting the great video footage in SATX. We've started working on some new material but we should definitely have some more shows coming your way in the near future. Again, be sure to sign our mailing list to be kept in the loop about everything.
Our new record 2x Broken is now available basically everywhere online, and if you live in Austin you should go pick one up at Waterloo, Cheapos, or Antones. The album is currently on sale at CD Baby $7.99 for the CD and $5.99 for the album download. You can also get the CD at our online merchstore at www.rockthreads.com/indofin and get a free autographed poster while supplies last. Besides that we are giving away a free download of a different song off the new album each month exclusively on our Bandcamp site, so if you're the patient type, you would eventually have the whole album in 12 months and you would have gotten it all for free. The free download for this month is Honey and we will gladly take anyone's suggestions as to which song to post next. The album in digital form is also available at iTunes, Amazon, Emusic, Limewire, Digstation, Bandcamp, and several others. If you already got your copy, we'd love to know what you think of it good or bad, so please post a review at either CDBaby, iTunes, Amazon, or just on your personal blog. I believe you can actually listen to the whole album on the widget below, so you don't even have to buy it to write a review, and you don't have to buy it until you've heard it all and know you wanna buy it.
Also, we haven't listed it anywhere yet, but the entire live set from our trip to Wakarusa Festival 2010 earlier this summer is now available for anyone who wants it on CD, Zip download, USB Wristband, & video DVD, only at www.coolmusicnetwork.com , we promise you will not be disappointed. This gig features our buddies Ryan Winters and Jason Moore from the Dallas reggaedub band Champa filling in on drums and additional guitar/vocals respectively. Definitely something you won't get to see at every show of ours and we even play a couple songs that you will probably never see Indofin play. We should have some video clips posted up at the website and the Ning fan network pretty soon.
So what lies ahead in August? This Sunday August 8, we're bbq-ing over at TJ's and at 6-7 Eastern Standard Time, we'll be interviewed over the phone Live on the Reggae Link BlogTalkRadio Podcast, they will be featuring our music throughout the show and guests will be able to call in and comment or ask questions. The link to go listen to the show is : http://www.blogtalkradio.com/reggae-link and the show is every sunday at 6pm Eastern if you wanted to start listening regularly. The day right after that, Monday August 9 is the day the Virgin Mobile Freefest Contest begins. This is the new contest we happen to be involved in right now, and again just like the ones before, we need all our friends and fans to represent at the online polls and to cast their votes in support of Indofin, and you will be able to get another free download from us during the voting process. If we win this one, we'll get some travelling money to play in Washington DC in September alongside MIA, Thievery Corp., LCD Soundsystem, and too many more to list.. We will have more details for you very soon.
Also, later in August on Tues. Aug. 31 @ 10pm, there will be a broadcast of a prerecorded interview I did over the phone a couple weeks ago at w/ QsHouse, just go to www.QsHouse.com to tune in live or just wait till later when the podcast will be available on iTunes.
Well, this has to be the longest newsletter I've ever written, so I really hope you all got through the whole thing. If anything new comes up, I'll will definitely let you all know first. In the meantime, just keep buying music (not just ours), support local and independent artists, and keep attending shows. By the way, I think i'll start including in these news updates a couple cool bands I recently saw or recently discovered. The bands that come to my mind at the moment are Natural Incense, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, and Bluetech. Also the Streetlight Manifesto show I went to at Emos in Austin was absolutely SICK!
With that said, I'm signing off, you all keep spreading the love, peace and unity for all, and stay tuned for more shows and music.!

Indofin
2x Broken
Nonprofit Boozer
Fresh from a trip to the Wakarusa Festival in Ozark, Arkansas, the guys in Indofin are gearing up for the release of their second full-length studio release 2x Broken. If you are a fan of the dirty-reggae-punk sound that Sublime’s live shows were chock full of, you’ll be a fan of this Austin three-piece.
The 12 tracks that make up this record combined come in at just over 30 minutes of what I would term as throwback reggae-punk music. Leading off with the distortion-driven “Honey,” the album’s sound is established early. The crawling reggae sound continues on such tracks as “Whatever,” “Nonprofit,” and “Riverside.” And songs like “Blue Light,” “Princess,” and “Missing Me” operate at a nice reggae-jam speed.
The vocals of T.J. Huerta are decidedly imperfect, but it’s very fitting for the tracks that comprise the album. The songs are full of regret and hearbreak. Apparently someone broke his heart good. But, the album is also a celebration of coming out the other side, in personal relationships and as a band. I think “Sunshine” is the key track to prove this point.
My favorite track on 2x Broken is a track called “Fingerfight.” The two minute jam is led by the crisp guitarwork of Huerta. The bass-line of Albert Huang keeps the song flowing while the percussion of Donny Mann brings it all together.
“Enough with all this posturing, fingerfighting fist a cuffs I got myself an ex-girlfriend / enough with all the apologizing, If you don't so I'm probably gonna do the same / I'm feeling like a bird in a cage when you come by to say hi you take this pain away / I pray, and I pray.”
The album ends with “2x Broken” that begins as a classic country song before it leads into a punk rock jam that would make the Dropkick Murphys proud.
If you’ve been through a rough break-up this album may serve as therapy, and as I stated at the beginning of this review if you are/were a Sublime fan, you’ll ikely find yourself at home with Indofin.
They are releasing 2x Broken on July 13, and will have a hometown release party at an INsite Night on Friday July 16 at Encore (611 Red River) with The Buzzkillers, Under The Gun and Root Dimension. If you’re an early bird, they will be on your television between 7-9a playing Fox 7's Good Day Austin on July 16 as well.
You can pick up the album at the show, or if you can’t make it download it on Amazon.com or order it via their website - http://indofinmusic.com/
June 9, 2010 VENTS MAGAZINE SITTING CHAIR FEATURE:
REVIEW: Swirling, Smokey, sticky, and completely enjoyable, the musicians in Indofin have created a simultaneously spaced out, euphonic, and bluesy, take on reggae, rock, and bits of hip-hop thrown in for good measure. Already a force in the Austin Texas scene, with appearances at SXSW in 2003-2007, and a spot on the Texas dates of the Warped Tour, they seem poised to spread there music of love, drugs, and good times further and further. One thing you should know though, they aren’t just another Sublime rip off band, though there are similarities to the Long Beach legends, the sounds of Indofin are uniquely their own, and the laid back grooves and Hip-Hop lyrical nuances on “Boozer Holiday“, along with the space mutant intro and fast upstrokes on the ska-punk number “Zanbar” prove this point nicely. So relax, gather with friends, and let Indofin take you away to the good times.
PLEASE VOTE FOR INDOFIN IN THE STIR IT UP EXPO BATTLE OF THE BEACH CONTEST! YOU CAN VOTE ONCE A DAY, IF WE WIN WE'LL BE GOING TO JAMAICA IN SEPTEMBER! JUST CLICK BELOW & click on the (21-30) tab which is where we are listed, and find Indofin and click to vote. There is 3 weeks left and we just need to be in the top 25 to go to the next round. They will ultimately be picking 5 bands to play in Jamaica in September. Voting ends July 15.
